I am Vice-Director of the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI), Galway, Ireland and professor at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG).

 My research interests are:

• Semantic Web services
• Distributed systems security

Developing Semantic Reality ("connecting the physical and virtual worlds") is currently my core research interest which combines my work in sensor networks, semantics, and peer-to-peer.

Many of my research results in these areas are incorporated in our P-Grid peer-to-peer system.

"The usual academic self promotion" (© Stefan Decker): CiteSeerX ranks me at 7532 in their list of most cited computer scientists (so plenty of room for me to improve on this :-) and Google Scholar gives an idea which of my papers are highly cited.
